Looking Beyond the Hathaway Maverick 7 Foot Pool Table? 6 Alternatives Worth a Look

How each alternative compares

Barrington Prescott 7 ft 3-in-1 Pool Table

The Barrington Prescott 7 ft 3-in-1 Pool Table adds a third game mode to the mix, expanding beyond the Maverick’s two-sport setup. It weighs 380 pounds, making it significantly heavier and more stable than the 252-pound Hathaway. The dimensions are slightly larger at 85.6 inches long and 47.9 inches wide, offering more playing surface and clearance. You get a dark brown wood finish instead of the Maverick’s matte black. This model drops the table tennis net in favor of broader versatility. It suits players who prioritize a heavier, premium build and multi-game flexibility over the lighter, simpler 2-in-1 design.

Vaztrlus 7ft Automatic Ball Return Pool Table

The Vaztrlus 7ft Automatic Ball Return Pool Table replaces the Maverick’s drop pockets with an automatic ball return system. This change speeds up gameplay by eliminating the need to retrieve balls manually. It weighs 191 pounds, which is 61 pounds less than the Hathaway, making it easier to move. The width is 46.8 inches, wider than the Maverick’s 31 inches, likely due to the return mechanism housing. The color is listed as wood, differing from the black and red felt combo. This option is best for players who value continuous play speed and modern aesthetics over the traditional drop-pocket feel and included table tennis accessories of the original.

INOTEVERITORY 7ft Ball Return Pool Table

The INOTEVERITORY 7ft Ball Return Pool Table also features an automatic ball return system, contrasting with the Maverick’s drop pockets. It weighs 211 pounds, slightly lighter than the Hathaway’s 252 pounds. Like the Vaztrlus, it is wider at 46.8 inches to accommodate the return mechanism. The finish is wood, differing from the Maverick’s black frame and red felt. This table lacks the multi-game versatility of the original, focusing solely on pool with enhanced convenience. It is ideal for players who want quick ball retrieval for practice sessions without the clutter of table tennis equipment. The design prioritizes speed and simplicity over the dual-sport functionality of the Hathaway.

Barrington Belmont 7 ft Bar Size Pool Table

The Barrington Belmont 7 ft Bar Size Pool Table uses a traditional drop pocket system like the Maverick but features K66 bumpers for a different cushion feel. It weighs 197 pounds, lighter than the Hathaway’s 252 pounds. The table is longer at 87 inches and wider at 49 inches, providing a standard bar-size experience. The finish is tan with dark wood grain, offering a classic look compared to the Maverick’s modern matte black. It does not include table tennis accessories, focusing purely on billiards. This model suits players who want a dedicated, durable pool table with standard sizing and traditional aesthetics, rather than a space-saving 2-in-1 combo.

Garvee 7ft 3-in-1 Pool Table

The Garvee 7ft 3-in-1 Pool Table offers three game modes in one footprint, surpassing the Maverick’s two-sport design. It weighs 394 pounds, making it the heaviest option and significantly more stable than the 252-pound Hathaway. The dimensions are 84.3 inches long and 48 inches wide, providing a broader surface. The color is red, differing from the Maverick’s black and red felt. This table sacrifices the specific table tennis setup of the original for broader multi-game versatility. It is best for buyers who want maximum entertainment value in a single, heavy unit and do not mind the increased weight and different aesthetic compared to the sleeker, lighter Hathaway model.

Nvobghdi 7FT Bar Pool Table with Ball Return

The Nvobghdi 7FT Bar Pool Table with Ball Return features an automatic ball return system, unlike the Maverick’s drop pockets. It weighs 191 pounds, lighter than the Hathaway’s 252 pounds. The width is 46.8 inches, wider than the original, to house the return mechanism. The color is grey, offering a neutral look compared to the Maverick’s black frame. This table focuses on pool only, omitting the table tennis accessories included with the Hathaway. It suits players who prefer automatic ball retrieval for faster gameplay and a modern grey finish. The trade-off is the loss of multi-game versatility and the traditional drop-pocket feel found in the original Maverick model.
