Spartan vs Fairmont Game Table Comparison
Multi-game configuration
The Spartan offers a 2-in-1 design that includes a table tennis top, allowing you to switch between pool and ping pong. This adds versatility if you want multiple games in one footprint. The Fairmont is a dedicated pool table without a convertible surface. It focuses solely on billiards. If you value having two distinct game options in a single unit, the Spartan provides that flexibility. The Fairmont requires separate equipment for other games.
Table size
Dimensions differ slightly between the two models. The Spartan measures 72 inches in length, 38 inches in width, and 31 inches in height. The Fairmont is larger, measuring 76 inches in length, 43.25 inches in width, and 32 inches in height. The Fairmont also has a larger playfield at 66 by 33 inches compared to the standard 6-foot playing surface implied by the Spartan. You need more room for the Fairmont, requiring about 12 by 10 feet of clearance.
Playfield coating
The Fairmont features a True Roll blended-wool felt surface designed for consistent ball roll and reliable shot response. This material is typical for better gameplay performance. The Spartan uses a smooth playing surface but does not specify the material composition in the provided data. Wool felt generally offers a faster and more authentic feel than standard synthetic surfaces. If surface quality is critical for your game, the Fairmont’s specified material is a clear advantage.
Leg levelers
Stability on uneven floors is handled differently. The Fairmont includes adjustable steel leg levelers, ensuring stable play on carpet, tile, or hardwood floors. This allows you to fine-tune the table’s levelness. The Spartan’s data does not mention adjustable leg levelers. Without this feature, you might have more difficulty ensuring a perfectly flat surface on uneven flooring. The Fairmont provides better control over table stability through its adjustable legs.
Portability
The Fairmont is designed for portability and easy storage. It folds flat to just 4.3 inches in height for upright storage in closets or corners. It also includes a rip-resistant carrying bag for protection and transport. The Spartan does not mention folding capabilities or a carrying bag. It is a fixed structure. If you need to move the table or store it compactly when not in use, the Fairmont’s folding design is the practical choice.
Which Hathaway 6 Ft Table Fits You
You want two games in one space
The Spartan offers a 2-in-1 configuration with an included table tennis top. You get two full games in a single 72-inch footprint. This design saves floor space while giving you options for billiards or ping pong. The compact 38-inch width fits smaller rooms better than the wider Fairmont.
You need easy storage and portability
The Fairmont folds flat to just 4.3 inches high for upright storage. It includes a carrying bag for protection and transport. You can set it up by unfolding the legs and adjusting the steel levelers. This makes it ideal for apartments or spaces where you need to clear the floor.
You prefer dedicated tournament-level play
The Fairmont features a 66-inch by 33-inch playfield with true roll blended-wool felt. It uses L-shaped cushions and mesh pockets for consistent ball rebound. The wider 43.25-inch frame provides more stability and clearance for 57-inch cues. You get a focused billiard experience without the distraction of a second game surface.
