Versatility vs Dedicated Play
Table Size
The GYMAX table measures 48.5 inches in length, making it a compact option suitable for smaller rooms. It has a width of 41.5 inches and stands 36.5 inches tall. In contrast, the HIMcup table is a full-size 8-foot model. It measures 96 inches in length and 48 inches in width, with a height of 30 inches. You need significantly more floor space for the HIMcup unit. The GYMAX fits tighter quarters, while the HIMcup requires a dedicated game room area to accommodate its regulation dimensions.
Multi-Game Configuration
GYMAX offers a 14-in-1 combo table. It supports seven ball games including basketball, billiards, foosball, table tennis, shuffleboard, bowling, and hockey. It also includes puzzle and board games like chess, checkers, and poker. This variety allows you to switch activities without needing different furniture. The HIMcup table is dedicated solely to table tennis. It does not offer other game modes. If you want multiple types of play in one piece of furniture, GYMAX provides that flexibility. If you prefer a single, focused activity, HIMcup specializes in that one sport.
Playfield Material
The HIMcup table features a 12mm MDF playing surface. This thickness is designed for consistent, tournament-style bounce, which is important for serious practice or competitive play. The GYMAX table uses a smooth and scratch-resistant billiard felt for its billiards section. The specific material composition and thickness for the other game surfaces on the GYMAX are not listed in the provided data. For dedicated ping pong enthusiasts, the 12mm MDF on the HIMcup offers a standardized playing experience. The GYMAX felt is optimized for billiards rather than table tennis.
Leg Levelers
The GYMAX table includes adjustable foot pads on its thickened legs. These allow you to stabilize the table on uneven surfaces, ensuring a level playing field for all its games. The HIMcup table data does not explicitly mention adjustable leg levelers. It relies on a heavy-duty steel frame and folding caster wheels for movement and storage. While the wheels help with mobility, the GYMAX provides a specific mechanism for leveling its surface. This feature is particularly useful if you place the table on a floor that is not perfectly flat.
Weight and Portability
The GYMAX table weighs 48 pounds. Its stackable tabletop design allows for flexible transformation and easy storage, though it does not have wheels. The HIMcup table weighs 86 pounds, making it significantly heavier. However, it features integrated caster wheels and a vertical folding design. This allows you to roll it indoors and save 60% of floor space when not in use. The GYMAX is lighter but less mobile. The HIMcup is heavier but designed for easy transport via wheels and compact storage through folding.
